Fun with OCD...

Oh crap.

I've gone through my blogrolls today, and have caught up with everyone, and I've also perused many of the blogs "on the bench" in my favorites folder.

I've added some, dropped a couple, and moved some around. And now I look in horror at my homepage on

All six blogrolls are clustered in multiples of five. They all either have ten, fifteen, or twenty blogs.

Perfect symetry. By accident. I can feel the OCD kicking in.

My fear is I won't be able to add or subtract just one blog. I'll have to do it five at a time, to keep everything in balance.

Hold me.

Embrace the OCD. I do.

Inherit a different habit with OCD like saying "Close, close, close, close, close the door!!" Man you really need to go to threes! The five stuff really sounds more like studdering than OCD!! Hug, hug, hug (remembered 3's) it's ok!

Just one thing... How does Lobster rank on the bottom of your list over Prime Rib? I'd myself choose the Prime Rib, but just curious!

Oh, and I have been to Florida a lot! Almost twice a year and the old folk down there make me go flipping insane!!

And here I was thinking I was a little strange because I not only have to use all the same color plastic clothes pins when I'm hanging laundry but the color of the pins has to coordinate with what I'm hanging.

How in the world did you come up with the categories for your different blogrolls? That concerns me more than your OCD! ;)

Heather--I think you're right, that's the only way...

JTL--I'm gonna send some of the geezers up your way!

Dixie--Whew! I'm not alone. I also have to have the same color push pins on my bulletin board at work!

MP--Honey, you ain't going anywhere! You're prime rib for life!

I have ORD, obsessive repulsive disorder. Unfortunately, it's not well known. I've hired a PR firm.

Aww, thanks for keeping me around. I guess you'll just have to wait until you can find 5 new blogs that fit into your (as yet unexplained) categories. Or you could just live with the disorder, or just change them to even numbers. Even numbers would be easier to keep up with.

Messing with the blogroll makes my teeth itch. Taking people out doesn't bother me...our tastes change. I wouldn't want someone to take that personal (and if they did, no amount of blogrolling can help them.)

I have a bloglines account and I have almost all of my blogroll in there and a ton more that aren't on the blogroll page...then I have some on the blogroll that i need to put in the blog lines because that's how I generally read them. That accounts for my increasing lack of commenting.

The biggest problem for me is people who don't ping. I NEED a ping!

In blog lines, new content shows as's hard for your eyes to see the links that aren't.

That ping thing is a major peeve of mine.

Oh, and if I had even-ish numbers, I would totally be OCD about it and I only have a couple of OCD's. Numbers isn't one of them...but damn I like symmetry!
