A lovely afternoon...
It was another lovely day, so we headed down SR 24 to Cedar Key for lunch and shopping.
On the way, as we were passing through Otter Creek, we spotted a rare and beautiful site:

It is not often that radials come out during the day. Food must be scarce. It appears he came out of the woods to get a drink of water.
As soon as I snapped the picture he bolted back into the underbrush. So graceful, so captivating to watch.
The miracle of nature.
On our way back out of Cedar Key, we saw the coolest car ever:

It was adorned with all manner of shells, and decals, and artwork and knickknacks and God knows what else.
I wish the pictures were better. All I had was my cellphone, and it takes horrible pictures. Oh, OK, I'm the one that takes horrible pictures. That's my thumb in the lower right of each shot.
As a shutterbug, I'm a pretty good writer. I'm fortunate that someone didn't come charging out of the house to kick my ass.
That's Mrs. Fab's car in the background. She's gotta have a convertible. Puts the top down about 10 days a year, but she's gotta have a convertible.
I can't get used to posting in the evening. I gotta go back to posting in the morning.
Mr. Fabulous cranked this out at

Ah, the rare and beautiful Roundus Radiata!
As for the car...I blame meth.
Uh, I think that's Brad Paisley's car.
That car rocks!
And you know I hate it when people let their radials out without a leash...
"I can't get used to posting in the evening. I gotta go back to posting in the morning."
What if you pretend you're Australian, mate?
And here I was thinking hell was the only place where the radials come out during the day!
I don't feel special anymore...
Love Mrs. Fab's car! I had a convertible for a while, but it's just to hot here in hell to have the top off much....
I spit soda out of my nose when I saw the tire - you owe me a new keyboard
I saw a couple wild rims over the weekend, but no radials.
What fun! And how nice to have a spouse you actually want to spend time with!!!
Serra--Wow. Usually meth is a good thing...
Trinette--Good one, Shecky :)
Dixie--Ain't it the truth? Some people shouldn't be allowed to have tires...
Gary--Would I have to get a dingo?
Pissy--I know! But, it keeps her happy! I like your Bug :)
C-8--Sorry, the nose is the one orafice I don't cover...
Nobody--Make sure you don't feed the rims, dude. It causes them to lose their fear of man.
Saur--She's my FAVE!
It's nice to cavort w/nature.
Thats the coolest car ever. Think it bounces while the radio plays???
;)
Wow, Florida is really beautiful, at least along the roadways.
All right. You know I usually like to make fun of you, but the caption to the tire picture was genuinly funny.
I laughed.
On the inside.
Marty--Cavort? Hell, if I'd of had a gun I'd have shot it!
Rebecca--That would be too much to hope for!
Belinda--I am sure that Arkansas has its good points :)
Esereth--But it is the mockage that keeps me going!
I wish someone would pimp my ride.
Wow that was a rare sighting of the radial you are very lucky to have seen it.
Would you stop taking pictures of my car... I know you are just jealous of my artistic ability... lol...
GAWD that is soooo fugly... who drives something like that?
CRIPES. I know what I'm doin' with MY car when it comes time to needin' paint. No way am I gonna waste money on paint. I'm gonna stick junk on it. Prolly will hold it together better, too!
Cool Tire - I think I am going to like my visit to Florida, lots of cool things to see.
Mr. Fab! Someone stole my car!!! Wherever did you find it?
My radial ran away last year. I've been looking for her ever since. I hope a good family with kids took her in.
We dont see many radials around here where I live. However, you would think livig in the motor city, I would see plenty! Oh well, I guess they all make it to FLorida and take up residence there. hehe Glad you had a fun day with Mrs. Fab today! I love that decorated car.....it kinda rocks....lol
I love the paisley car - what a sight. Good job getting photos! Also, I voted for you in the battle of the blogs, just returning the favor. (That, and you were FAR better than your opponent.)
Rare footage indeed, the only radials I've ever seen were all mounted and stuffed.
:)
Spider--I can try to have them get in touch with you if you like :)
Lori--Indeed. I feel so blessed!
Fantastigirl--I think you should get one. It could be like your batmobile!
Kentucky Girl--Better wait till you get back home. It will play better in KY :)
Ben--Well, sightings are rare, but you might get lucky!
Ms. M--We can only hope. Next time you might want to get an inside tire...
Chelle--It must be like manatees. I live in FL but I never see any manatees. Which is a shame, because I hear they are delicious.
Erin--Thanks, I appreciate it! I always vote for my peeps!
Dreamwalker--Ugh, what a barbaric practice!
My husband and I are talking about going to Florida this summer for vacation. I hope we're lucky enough to spot a radial. You really have to have a good eye for them though.
Aren't wild radials dangerous?? Geez, you're really courageous to get so close to it, Mr. Fab!
Did you happen to see the pimp that went along with the car?
You are not going to believe me, I just know you won't but I SWEAR The PK and I were going into town last week and that car was two cars ahead of us!!! I was like "What the hell is THAT?" We spent the whole 15 minute drive trying to identify things on the car. It was the weirdest vehicle I had EVER seen! :)
Hey Guys that's a real art form though you may not see them often art cars are a real thing. Check this site if you want to make your own. http://www.artcars.com/.
Mrs Fab
It's not how many times you put the top down on your rag top - it's the fact that you can!
Heather--And you have to be careful, especially if they are with young...
CanadianSwiss--I fear no steel belt!
Stacy--LMAO! Seriously? Maybe they were down to see Mickey...
Jpzee--Very cool! Of course, that car would just be "another car" up in Noho!
Who knew Florida had such diversity? I only knew of Disney and that awful bar Paris Hilton hangs out in, awesome! I hear that car is available in an El Camino.
Sudiegirl sez:
I inherited a Jeep from my grandfather last spring, and now that I see these pics, I am going to wash my car this weekend, then paint a giant pot leaf on the tailgate.
Thanks, Mr. Fab!
