Happiest Place on Earth, my ass...

I had a whole long post mostly written about why I hate Disney.

But when I was re-reading the post, it seemed surprising vitriolic. Much more so than the usual stuff I post here.

Don't get me wrong. I can be vitriolic. I can be as vitriolic as the next guy. I've got a side so dark it frightens my shadow.

I don't really know what that means.

I may have even been spewing bile as I wrote that post.

In any event, I don't usually show that side here, so I figured I would just post some anti-Disney pictures instead.

In short, I think Disney manipulates little kids and, by extension, their parents. They are an evil, souless, money-grubbing company masquerading as something else entirely.

Disney is the devil.

I know I'm in the minority here.

That's as much of my dark side as you get to see today.

And don't even get me started about Mother Theresa.

Not to mention the fact that Walt Disney himself was a bigot and a horrible racist...

That said, I love Finding Nemo. So yeah, I guess I'm a big hypocrite. Oh well.

Well there IS something wrong with Disney because everytime we go there, someone in my family picks up an awful stomach bug and then shares it with the rest of the family! I'll stay at home, thanks.

Erin--That was part of my original post LOL. Yeah, we can't but be hypocrites, though. You can't avoid the Devil. Movies, ESPN, ABC TV..they are everywhere!

Lorraine--I am happy I could provide that public service :)

Nunya--Little known fun fact: stomach bugs are one of Florida's major exports!

Here here well said I am glad I am not the only one who feels like that about that evil money grubbing mouse and while I am on the subject I think after all of them hurricanes went thru ALL Fl. residents should be able to get in for free then maybe maybe I would go.

Well, I could go on and on here about Disney. My company put in a new wireless network for their cell phones. We paid for the whole thing in exchange for something like 8K new cell service activations. They use us exclusively, but the cost of the network was in the millions for 8 lousy handsets. I think my company took it up the ASS for monthly recurring charges, but if they keep them long enough it should work to our benefit and then Disney will get it up the ass! Hope that makes you feel better. As well as knowing that I worked on this project and it sucked Mickey's dick.

I think Minnie Mouse is behind it all the money hungry biatch. She wants more of those pukey polka dotted dresses with matching shoes.

Well, as far as the park goes, I love it...the rides, the fantasy...all that.

As far as the ticket prices go, they're horrible. It's one of the main reasons that, despite living about 10 miles from Disney World, I haven't been there in about 15 years. Now if someone happened to give me free tickets, we'll I'd go...but I'm not paying those prices. way!

And the traffic here (caused from all the tourists) is HORRID!!!

But anyway, that's just my two cents.

I had to look up vitriolic (I'm a frog, remember). I never realized that there was such a hate in the states about Disney. When I was still in Canada, I guess I was too young and in Europe, it's not really a subject.

Well...I'm outta place here. We just got back from Disneyland and my kids loved it...even the teenager. Yes it was expensive, but not anymore expensive than any other attraction in California--actually it was one of the cheapest.

I suppose we all have our "dark sides" ......

I know it is a money making racket, but I like some of the movies :) I'm safe here over on the otherside of the world...we are not overdosed on it I guess?

Always prefered Warner Bros. cartoons though...Good old Road Runner, Tweety and Sylvester...etc :D
Oh, no!!! I just read that Mimi hates Pooh Bear - is that the entire cartoon or the creature?! I love Eeyore...and Piglet.

Lori--Yes, but then you would still have to pay 10 bucks for a hamburger and 50 for a t-shirt.

Personally, I would have liked to see one of those hurricanes wipe out the whole park!

Nanuk--Exactly! Brokeback Hollow Tree.

Ms. M.--One rarely sees such graphic sexual imagery in comments about the telecommunications industry LOL

Beady--But I bet YOU would look good in that outfit!

Mimi--YES! A kindred spirit! I love you! Death to Pooh!

Stacy--Oh God, yeah, I can just imagine the traffic...fuck!

Pissy--That's hell too, just a flashier version.

Zhadi and Nobody--It is heartening to see so many people with the same opinion. I figured I'd get a bunch of folks taking me to task over this post.

CS--Isn't there one in Franch though? Or did they close that one?

Peebugg--I find it hard to believe that anyone with the name "Peebugg" has a dark side :)

Dreamy--You get points for liking Bugs and his buddies, but then I have to take them away because you like Pooh's buddies. Net total: zero LOL

I have written more than once on the evils of Disney, and with vitriol that would bugger your mind. But I'm kind of known for that, so...

Give me Foghorn Leghorn or Daffy over Donald Duck anyday. Chuck Jones and Fritz Freleng were keepin' it real...

I'll be the minority. I like Disney. The theme park, the movies, I get a kick out of most of it.
For those of you who find Disney a particular thorn in the side of the world, I'm preaty sure there is a book by a writer from the Miami Herald that goes off on Disney something fierce. You'd enjoy it.
Nice nomenclature in the post. I had to look up vitrolic. Always enjoy learning a new word.

MP--Not in my world LOL. :)

Kentucky Girl--I guess I can live with that compromise...

CeCe--Well...Cherry gets a pass from me on anything. She can have whatever she wants :)

Eric--"Nomenclature"? DOn't be using big words in my comment section! :)

CP--Word up, girlfriend!

Darn, I must be one big sucker.

Our last trips to both Disneyland and world was 1 month and 1.5 month respectively, stayed in Disney hotels and love them to bits, had a great time and wished we could buy the entire Disney home, were slapped with extra charges at the airport for excess luggage weight ... ... ...

Both time broke my spouse's credit cards to pieces ... ... ... and currently plotting to pull that evil stunt again.

I simply adore that place but not the food though.

Yet strangely, I hate 'chicken little' to death and some other Disney movies.

I guess I am a sucker after all. HIAZ.

It is really interresting to discover that so many people in the US hate Disney! I don't hate, I don't love. Like many of the US product, it's made to do big money.

One thing I hate about some of the Disney films is that he transform the original story. The worst example is the Little Mermaid. She's not suppose to marry the prince at the end...

I believe we have to look at the Disney philosophy (yes, there is one) with a very critical eye. The model they propose don't give place for all the differences we see in the world. In that sense, yes, Disney suck!
