When did I become a thirteen year old girl?

Ever since I got my Precioussss I have been addicted.

To text messaging.

I text messaged once in a while with the Razr I have but it was awfully slow going for a middle aged man. It was a huge pain in the ass. I could never remember what button to push to capitalize things or make punctuation, or any of that crap. It was both slow going and mistake-laden.

But now...with the PDA's slide out keyboard, it's a snap.

And so it began.

All of sudden I am a text messaging fiend. I am now more apt to text message people at work than call them. Which irritates many of them because they are not used to doing a lot of text messaging and their phones don't have keyboards.

Plus I text message my friends all day. I text message my sister Shelli a lot, and I trade text messages with some of my blogger pals like Sandi.

Luckily Mrs. Fab must have known how I would react to this wonderful new development because she had the foresight to make sure I signed up for unlimited text messages.

A monster has been created.

I don't sit around in my jammies and talk about boys. I don't use strawberry lip gloss. I don't follow any boy bands (are there even any around anymore?) I don't have 37 stuffed animals on my bed. I don't do any of a hundred things that a typical 13 year old girl does.

But I can hold my own with any of them in a text messaging contest.

Bring it, girlies!
You got a problem with that? I don't want to hear it. But you can text me :)

I once again feel I need to apologize for not getting around to as many blogs as I usually do. I have been wicked busy on this business trip. I am visiting as many as I can but I won't be able to catch up until the weekend. I also want to thank all the new folks who have left comments the last several days. I have bookmarked your sites and if I haven't been there yet I will be soon.

I love my sister more than almost anyone on the whole entire planet, but during our recent trip to TN, when she was in the car ahead of us and insisted on sending REPEATED text-messages to mine and Alex's cell phones (which cost money) instead of CALLING us (which is free), I kind of, just a little, wanted to punch her in the neck. But not hard.

Don't apologize. We understand. Just make sure you get to my blog.;)

Not too long ago, there was a contest for the fastest text messenger. I think you should participate in it next year.

This is exactly why I don't use text messages. I'd never stop! I don't like talking on the phone much either, but texting? I could do that.

It's ok, because a lot of the time, I swear I'm a 14 year old boy. I think it stems from spending so much time with them this summer. They don't text as much, but they do get hysterical over inappropriate things. As do I.

I know what you mean by that. When my Dell finally keeled over, I had to resort to text messaging to stay in touch with my client

I would need to plug a keyboard in to it. Not very good with small keys you would get lots of illegible messages. And we can't have that when I'm practicing cyber sex can we. ;)

You know what they say practice makes perfect. ;)

Good for you, Mr. Fab! Stay strong against the peer pressure to use strawberry lip gloss.

Besides, all the cool girls know the Dr. Pepper one tastes a LOT better, and the lemurs get all hot and shit when you wear it.

too funny, mr. fab. I don't text for the same reason you gave, it's too cumbersome on a regular cell.

However I have found that my buds on verizon I can text through the verizon website and when they reply it comes straight to my e-mail. Way nice, because I can then just type a reply instead of chicken pecking on my phone.

You obviously haven't been around 13-year-old girls in a long time; they're way too mature for all that stuff you mentioned... Just ask them.

If you ever come to Jackson, I'll let you sub for my 9th grade English class; it's a lesson I'm sure you would appreciate.

Ihave unlimited text message on my razr....I have used it 3x. I use the camara and video all the time. I have no one to text, I don't know if I like it but if it's like IM'ing, then no.

I think my daughter would beat you in a contest on a regular phone. My husband calls her SUPER Thumbs. I can not imagine if she had a slide keyboard. She can type 100 words per minute and is self taught. Last month she had 14,000 text messages and went over her minutes on her cell phone plus she is always instant messaging on the computer where the heck does she find the time???

i've got unlimited text messaging. i love it. i like being able to post text messages to my journal. technology is awesome. i'm thankful that i didn't have text messaging when i was a teenager. a cab driver said to me the other day that he sees all these high school kids leaving the school with their cell phones @ their ear or text walking. he said they're likely all talking to each other (fellow classmates) but i think they're likely talking to strangers from the internet. you know, creepy old guys that pretend their 13 year old girls.

Don't be afraid!

Bluepaintred--Why is it call that if you put it on your lips?

Itchy--Okay, I'll pick some up...

Michele--You can prove NOTHING!

Amber---That is because you are a kid at heart!

Kyle--Computers can actually keel over?

Suze--Someone has a one track mind...LOL

Serra--There is a Doctor Pepper one? No way...

Great Day--That's true, it's cool to do it through the computer too!

Tense Teacher--I would LOVE to teach. For ONE day.

LibraGirl--I still need to learn how to take a video...

Cherish--I yield to your daughter. She is the champion!

Goldmourn--That is true, you just never know these days. Hey, thanks for stopping by!
